The Stewart Farm

The Stewart Farm was settled in the 1880's along the Nicomekl River on what is now Crescent Road in Surrey.  It was operated for 60 years as a hay farm and the farmhouse is a wonderful example of Victorian rural architecture.  It has be completely restored and furnished to offer its' visitors a glimpse back in time to the days of horse drawn farm tools, hand churned butter and wood stove cooking.   Guided tours are offered by staff and volunteers dressed in Victorian costume of the furnished farmhouse, pole barn with agricultural tools and machinery, boathouse, threshing shed, root cellar, and heritage gardens and orchard.  Open Mid-February to mid-December, Tuesday - Friday 10 am to 4 pm, Saturday and Sunday noon - 4pm.   Admission by Donation.   For more information call (604) 543-3456.  More information

South Surrey is located on the Semiahmoo Peninsula bordered by Newton and Cloverdale to the north and east and by the Pacific Ocean and the US Border to the west and south. It has a wide range of neighbourhoods, each with it's own character including Crescent Beach, Crescent Heights, Elgin, Chantrell Creek, Grandview Heights, Hazelmere, Johnson Heights, Morgan Creek, Ocean Park, Semiahmoo, and Sunnyside. South Surrey has the largest concentration of persons over the age of 60 of all Surrey's town centres. King George Highway and Highway 99 provide easy access to the US Border and Vancouver.

Nature is in abundance in South Surrey with Crescent Beach offering its beautiful ocean panorama, swimming beaches, a marina, hiking and biking, Blackie Spit with its pathways through marshes and woods filled with wildflowers and the Serpentine Fen offers some of Canada's best bird watching with up to 200 species of migratory birds that can be observed from conveniently placed lookouts. Some other popular hiking areas in South Surrey are the Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest, Semiahmoo Trails, the Ocean Park Shoreline Walk and Redwood Park.
